Follow the student-led growth of the Bellarmine Veterans Foundation through research, outreach, remembrance, and storytelling.
The Bellarmine Veterans Foundation has grown through student leadership, careful research, outreach partnerships, remembrance events, and creative storytelling. The timeline below follows major milestones in that growth and shows how a student-led effort has expanded into a lasting work of remembrance.
Each milestone marks a step in building a stronger culture of veteran remembrance at Bellarmine and across the Bay Area.

Milestone 01
The beginning of our broad and dedicated student base.
Milestone 03
Under the helpful advice of Mr. Cesena, Bellarmine's visual production head, began launching our feature film idea — to interview veterans and release their stories to the public in a professional format.

Milestone 05
For Corporal Frank Wright, a World War 2 veteran who had recently turned 100. Through careful teacher and student coordination — including leading the school prayer and working with Judge Johnny Gogo on the Superior Court of California — we exceeded targets set by many other schools in California in a matter of days and demonstrated our gratitude.
Milestone 07
To 60+ student attendees in an interactive breakout room, where we played a veteran-themed Family Feud and led a presentation on veteran historiography and perception over time.

Milestone 02
In website development, feature film creation, map/index work, and dinner planning.

Milestone 04
Mr. Arnold invited us to a gathering of Bellarmine veterans and supporting individuals — the first time student representation was allowed.

Under the approval of Mr. Arnold, club moderator and head of Development, and Mr. Connolly, head of Alumni Relations, cementing our presence and commitment to future recognition endeavors.

Milestone 08
Brought together dozens of participants for a night of remembrance, the annual culmination of our foundation's efforts.
The foundation's work blends archival care, community outreach, and respectful storytelling so Bellarmine veterans are remembered in meaningful ways.
We gather records, identify Bellarmine veterans, and organize stories so remembrance is grounded in careful historical work.
We collaborate with veterans organizations, school partners, and supporters to keep Bellarmine's remembrance efforts active and outward-facing.
From the memorial map to the feature film and school events, we use thoughtful storytelling to help the community remember with depth and dignity.
Faculty mentors, alumni leadership, and student teams all contribute to the foundation's research, outreach, and storytelling work.
