The Bellarmine Veterans Foundation is continuing to seek out local organizations that serve veterans, and our list of partners is still growing. These are the groups we currently work with, along with what we hope to build together.

American Legion

About

Founded in 1919, the American Legion is one of the nation's largest veterans service organizations, dedicated to supporting veterans, active-duty military members, their families, and local communities through advocacy, mentorship, and service.

Our Partnership

Bellarmine Veterans Foundation has begun working with local American Legion members to strengthen connections between students and veterans. We have welcomed Legion members to Foundation events such as our Remembrance dinner and are exploring opportunities to connect students with American Legion civic programs, including the California Boys State and Girls State and research on the American Legion Auxiliary grant, while continuing to build future service and community engagement initiatives.

Swords to Plowshares

About

Swords to Plowshares empowers veterans to overcome homelessness, unemployment, and other challenges by providing housing, employment services, legal assistance, and mental health support.

Looking Ahead

Bellarmine Veterans Foundation hopes to collaborate with Swords to Plowshares on future initiatives that support veterans in need. We're connecting with their Director of Marketing to create channels for spotlighting their efforts and sharing veteran stories.

Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen

About

Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen provides free, nutritious meals and supportive services to anyone in need throughout the San Jose community, including many veterans experiencing food insecurity.

Looking Ahead

Bellarmine Veterans Foundation is exploring opportunities to support Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen through student volunteer service and community engagement. We look forward to working with our Christian Service Program to open up a pathway for direct high school engagement.
