Additional Information

Lawrence “ Don” Costello (USMC), class of ’44, while on Saipan saw Joe Aarrecoechea, ’43. In later action, on Tincan, he was wounded and removed to a base hospital in MidPacific. There one day he spotted a figure that was familiar on the Bellarmine campus. He hailed and his efforts were rewarded for it was Joe Cuneo, ’44, now of the army. This is only a sample of one of the many chance happenings between Bellarmine service men. We want to hear of decorations, promotions of the boys from our school. There is Bernard Doyle, ’36, a major already. Then, too, sad news comes to us of Pat Leonard, 38, who made the supreme sacrifice. So let us in on the news I We want to keep in touch with our friends: Steve Holeman, Henry Mariani, Jack Fourcade, Bob Bebeau, Jim Gartland, Willard Fay, and others that are at Farrought Naval Training Station. A1 Draper, we hear, is in New G . . . serving the navy as radio operator.
